The 2019-2020 school year has certainly been one to remember! As it winds down, even if it may not be as we are used to, it is still important to acknowledge the year and take some time to reflect.
Write down answers to some of the ideas below, or anything that sticks out in your mind about this year (take some time to think all the way back to September!). If you keep a journal, make your entry there - you will enjoy looking back on your responses later in life.
School year 2019-2020. Age __________ Grade ____________
I hope that you will have a safe and happy summer and I look forward to seeing you in the Fall!
All my very best,
Mrs. Gibson

If an adult in your family has access to the tools and wood necessary, building a birdhouse together would be a wonderful activity to invite birds into your yard. Check out https://www.audubon.org/app to learn about the birds you see, or to download an app for your iOS or Android device.

Sound Walk
• Find a spot outside your home
• Be completely still and silent for at least one minute (5 is better!)
• Take note of how many sounds you hear. Can you feel any vibrations?
• Are the sounds loud, soft, fast, slow, repetitive, random?
• Try it once with eyes open and again with eyes closed
• Try it in a different spot or at different times of day – what similarities or differences do you notice?
• Keep a journal and make notes of your findings
• Draw a picture, with a dot in the middle of the page to represent you, and try and locate and show where the different sounds
were coming from, and how far away they were
• Challenge a family member and compare your notes
• Share your findings with me!
